Now for the weather. We have a decent size northeaster going to head up the east coast tomorrow which isn't good for those areas already affected by Sandy. We in MA could get the gamut from snow to heavy rain and strong winds (50 to 60 mph) from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday. It's that time of year again, hurry up Spring.

Ya I heard about the northeaster going towards you guys. Just can't catch a break I guess... I hope you all stay safe and are able to ride this one out as well. Especially those who are still recovering from Sandy.

dang elves....I told them WEST coast and they go east /facepalm! (friends out in i-de-ho say they still have some fires left that wont go away until they get some snow/heavy rain).

glad to see you are still ok rr, maybe its time to build that ark?

in other news:
yesterday whilst typing out my dinner repast---We heard a THUCNK on our balcony door....and on our balcony was a wee birdie (think robin) looking rather ragged after trying to ram its head thru a glass door....it sat there for many hours ('bout 4 or so) and finally took off just before dark....hope he is ok (didnt see any birdie on the ground below our balcony after he left--we did watch him to make sure he was doing 'ok'...he was quite stunned for a rather long time....no idea how thick a birds skull is, but I hope he survives and doesnt become a meal for one of the dogs or foxes in the area).
sad panda.

Sounds similar to the incident I had while driving with my fiancee one night. Well actually she was driving but I was there. As we drove along a bird flew at windshield level to her car (she has a car that is probably only 5 feet off the ground at its highest point). Smacked right into the side of the windshield and ricocheted off. Stupid bird flew into us...

sometimes you have to wonder....

so today I was out doing some errands and had to stop by the walgreens....seems that the one I stopped by was unable to use their computer system due to the elections going on --the electronics were overloaded by the election ballot taking ....and you have got to wonder about that-----I mean, say you are one of those people on that expensive meds (like upwards of hundreds of $$$)....can you imagine going to pick up your prescription and being told to pay in CASH for it...that will be $295.56 CASH ONLY....yeah I have that much on me, right. (not many people even carry cash anymore...everyone pays via cc or debit or check)
has to be the stupidest thing I have yet to see!!!! (good thing I was there just to pick up some small stuff and had enough cash to pay for it).

Wow, never heard that before. I have heard about places being closed because employees have to help count ballots (DMV for example), but not a place whose electronics are overloaded because of voting. That is new...

yeah was pretty ludicrous if you ask me (and they said, there is a sign on the door---uhm, there are about 10 signs on the door and this one is in tiny letter...make it BIG and red and people MIGHT see it before entering)....

wont be returning to that walgreens for anything.

and the other thing I was out looking for yesterday...magazines! since borders and barnes and nobles are basically gone I have been trying to find places to buy some of the mags I buy (its xmas time...looking for cookie books--go figure, and a few others I like to get a times during the year)....like home improvement type magazines--so went to home despot...they had 4 cooking magazines, people and one I had never heard of..... are people just not reading magazines anymore?? I know book stores are gone and some of the news papers are going ....but magazine? (I wont cry if ones like people disappear--or ones like that, I would be saddened to see national geographic go though, or some of the science ones).

guess I am living in the wrong century again....someone hand me my records and set the betamax to record my shows while I set up the answering machine on my telephone----

It has actually been good watching TV today. None of the lies, truth stretching, and otherwise annoying ads.

70's next three days, followed by three or four in 40's for highs, 20's for lows.

Stay warm and dry.

our commercials have only changed from being political....
and very happy that those are gone

nicer weather...but no 70's here.

Snow on the ground and then 70's on Sunday? Talk about a weather shift...

And yes cosy, I do believe people are reading less magazines and books. Thanks to the kindle and such.

That does sound a bit like Chicago weather. Was like 30 this week and then 63 expected on Saturday? Not Chicago but same state. Crazy...

gee I am gone for a day and no one else posts!

I spent most of my day sleeping--knew it had to catch up with me sometime, nothing like sleeping 8 hours! (then getting up eating and going back to sleep ....and sleeping another 3 hours....)

got my xmas lights out, seems like its supposed to be nice (not raining, windy or snowing) for a few days so might get them up before ....it snows (and xmas too)...checked them out to make sure they work--most of them do, but still might go and get another set (I have rope lights--like them since you dont have to worry about things falling off or getting stuck on other things)....can never have too many lights (and it might keep them pesky raccoons away!...sorry rr).

though after sleeping half of the day, I am still tired....guess I might sleep a good part of tomorrow as well !

I guess you needed to catch up on your sleep Cosy, I always wondered how you were so omnipresent here but I had decided you were actually several people :P

I just started with my advent box, sorting out cards and making lists. I will not put up lights and decorations until December though, I have quite a lot of tidying and cleaning to do before that!

Well there was one post... But it was a bot spammer. No worries, I took care of it.

Christmas lights already? Nah, not till after Thanksgiving. Same with Christmas music. I'll wait till after Thanksgiving to start with that. Won't have a tree this year. The co-worker that let me borrow her tree last year took a job at a different high school so she isn't around anymore. Oh well.

Sleep is good. I like sleep. Though I get roughly 6-8 hours each night. Which is good.

Not windy? Here it is windy as heck. Winds were at 15mph yesterday, 20+ today. Do not want to go outside!

no tree again this year, but my little fabric one I made a few years back (not planning on any gifts under it so why make it big anyways?)
gotta get my lights up before it....does the s word...and its nice soooooo, not going to wait until turkey day and have a foot of snow to put them up in.
cards....have yet to even find a set I like, though there are less people on my list this year again.

me?? several people my husband would faint!

Ya I'm not sure about the s word yet. We just have had a lot of wind. Though it is now eerily calm out... We had about 10 minutes of sheets of rain with insane wind. Now there is no wind and no rain... Some what unnerving... Oh well.

I'll be spending Christmas at my parents before going up to join my fiancee and her family a few days later. Always a busy time.

As usual, we will have a real tree dropping needles eveywhere that get carried through the house on people's feet and I will be vacuuming them up all year ^^

We had a lovely sunny couple of days!

My parents used to always get real trees. But after a couple fell over and we got a German Shepard we stopped getting real ones. Got a fake one instead so that no water spilled if the dog knocked it over. Now that I have moved out and live by myself, no tree for me. Oh well.

Saturday was nice. Sunday was nice until about 1pm. Then it clouded up and started to rain. Poured last night.
